Are you ready for some (exhibition) football?!
The Buffalo Bills open their exhibition schedule this afternoon, hosting the Chicago Bears in preseason action. For the Bills, head coach Sean McDermott has already said that starters will play around a quarter of football, meaning that fans will have a chance to see star quarterback Josh Allen in action for the first time in the 2024-2025 season. Bears coach Matt Eberflus also said that the Bears starters will play, which means that 2024 first overall pick Caleb Williams will suit up in his professional debut.
As always, we’re hoping for a few things in a preseason contest. First, no injuries. Second, that the team comes out and looks smooth. Third, no injuries. Fourth, that we can see some separation in some of the better roster battles, especially at wide receiver, safety, and corner. Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, we’re hoping for no injuries. Did I mention that we want everyone on both sides to stay healthy?
Your open thread for today’s game is here, folks. We’ll see if we need a second-half thread based on comment volume as the afternoon progresses. Remember to treat each other civilly. After all, not only is it just a game, but today’s contest is just a game with an outcome that doesn’t matter.
Enjoy the day, friends. Go Bills!
