We explain why the Bills aren’t tendering Quintin Morris

The Buffalo Bills won’t be tendering restricted free agent Quintin Morris before the league’s deadline, so he’s set to become an unrestricted free agent when the league year opens. That from NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

This isn’t a surprise, and doesn’t mean he won’t be back. The RFA tender for Morris would have been at least $3.623 million which would have been a significant raise for Morris. It’s likely the Bills will try and re-sign Morris for somewhere closer to the league minimum of $1.1 million.

The Bills have done this in the past, signing RFAs to cheaper contracts than the tender on folks like CB Cam Lewis, CB Dane Jackson, and LB Tyrel Dodson.

Morris had five catches for 36 yards and a touchdown in 2024, playing 21% of the team’s offensive snaps and 79% of the special teams snaps as a core-four player. He has 15 catches for 146 yards and three touchdowns in 45 career games.

He fits in the tight end room in play style and financially, and it’s unlikely he’s going to get a significant offer from another team, so I expect we’ll see a contract for him before the end of March.
