Josh Allen continues his march into the NFL record books, occupying rarified air in the process
Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen played an incredibly efficient and dominating game against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 1. Though he had attempted just two passes at the two-minute warning before halftime, Allen made Arizona pay for their defensive decisions in the second half.
In helping the Bills secure a victory at home, Allen recorded his fourth game with two passing touchdowns and two rushing scores, tying former San Fransisco 49ers and NFL Hall of Fame quarterback Steve Young for the most such games in NFL History. Going 18-of-23 for 232 yards, Allen helped the Bills climb out of an early 17-3 deficit for a dramatic 34-28 win over the Cardinals.

Allen also added nine rushing attempts (one kneel down) for 39 yards on the ground and those two aforementioned touchdowns. His day could have gone even better, considering Allen also had a rushing touchdown called back on the Bills’ first drive of the game — due to an offensive facemask penalty by right guard O’Cyrus Torrence.
Allen is now just two rushing touchdowns away from tying former Bills running back O.J. Simpson for second all-time in Buffalo Bills history (57). There’s a realistic chance Allen could even climb into first place all-time on the Bills’ list of rushing touchdown leaders.
That’s incredible, given the Hall-of-Fame statistical air surrounding him. Running back Thurman Thomas is the current leader, and many would have predicted it taking far longer to surpass his rushing touchdown mark. It just furthers the idea that Josh Allen is a special player — a generational talent.
Josh Allen is now 10 rushing touchdowns behind Thurman Thomas for the most in #Bills history.
