The wideout is vying for a roster spot in a packed wide receiver room but seems to have avoided missing any time
While members of Bills Mafia attended the first day of Buffalo Bills training camp themselves or saw plenty of videos going on around on social media of quarterback Josh Allen throwing touchdowns to rookie wideout Keon Coleman among others, things can’t always be sunshine and rainbows with this team. Wide receiver Chase Claypool has generated some buzz this offseason and was touted as one of the depth pieces to join the wide receiver room on the final roster but he picked up a leg injury, causing him to miss the rest of practice.
Bills WR Chase Claypool came up limping on his right leg after a team drill rep. He did not take another rep of the handful of reps remaining. Practice is now over.

Claypool didn’t go back in, but practice ended shortly after. Seemed OK walking to stretch after limping earlier

Claypool was seen talking briefly with the training staff while on the sideline and the incident happened just a few minutes before practice concluded.
However, after practice ended, Bills media began reporting that Claypool’s limp had subsided and he was seen moving around well and working with fellow wideout Khalil Shakir, according to ESPN’s Alaina Getzenberg.

The 26-year-old may have avoided an injury that could impact his training camp stock but considering he’s in a jam-packed wide receiver room, he can’t afford any hiccups. He seems to be okay but it’s certainly going to be an important situation to monitor as the team moves through training camp.
Reports out of the first day of camp suggest that the Bills offense had a fun day today and plenty of the the wide receivers in Claypool’s situation flashed and may see more opportunities, especially if injuries continue.
