Coleman hauls in the biggest pass to this point of his professional career

The Buffalo Bills signed wide receiver Keon Coleman to his four-year rookie contract on Wednesday, per a report by Sal Capaccio.

The team’s top overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, Coleman was selected by the Bills with the first pick in Round 2, at the 33rd overall selection.

The details of Coleman’s rookie deal have not been made available at this point. But we can look at last year’s draft to gain an idea of his first NFL contract.

According to Spotrac, last year’s 33rd overall pick, quarterback Will Levis, signed a four-year, $9,542,165 deal with an AAV of $2,385,541, and a signing bonus of $3,939,756.

Interestingly, Levis was not the top pick of the second round due to a penalty levied on the Miami Dolphins after violating league policies related to integrity of the game stemming from conversations with quarterback Tom Brady and Sean Payton’s agent.

Instead, Round 2 of last year’s draft began with pick 32, and saw the Pittsburgh Steelers select cornerback Joey Porter Jr. to open the second night. Porter’s numbers, provided by Spotrac, saw him sign a four-year deal worth $9,618,345 (AAV of $2,404,586) and a signing bonus of $3,995,160.

Coleman’s deal is likely to be somewhere in the neighborhood of both Levis and Porter’s deals.
