Plus, who are the Bills’ biggest impending free agents?

In a year when many outside of One Bills Drive expected the Buffalo Bills to undertake a retooling effort following an offseason where the team shed plenty of veteran talent, the Bills managed to capture their fifth straight AFC East championship and had a chance to drive downfield and take the lead against the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship.

Instead, for the second straight year, the Bills’ offense was unable to take the lead over the Chiefs and Kansas City once again ended Buffalo’s Super Bowl dreams with a 32-29 triumph in the AFC title game.

Head coach Sean McDermott did a great job in guiding the Bills to a 13-4 record in the regular season and two seed in the AFC, but in the end, the result of this year was more playoff heartbreak against their bitter rivals, the Chiefs.

Today’s edition of Buffalo Rumblinks leads off by recapping what McDermott had to say to the members of the media about the 2024 Bills during his hour-long, season-ending press conference.

“No one in this building, myself included, is comfortable or content with where we’re at,” head coach Sean McDermott told reporters. “If you keep doing things the right way, eventually that door will open.”

Hear what else McDermott had to say about the Bills, including what Buffalo’s wide receivers need to improve upon in 2025; how the Bills were able to experience success this year with plenty of newcomers on the roster; how he was pleased by what offensive coordinator Joe Brady did in his first full year in that role; and what the team needs to do moving forward to finally dethrone the Chiefs in the AFC.

Buffalo’s impending free agents

With NFL free agency set to begin on March 12, the Buffalo Bills have already taken care of one of their free agents, offensive lineman Ryan Van Demark, who was an exclusive-rights free agent (ERFA). But the Bills still have 17 pending free unrestricted free agents, including wide receivers Amari Cooper and Mack Hollins, cornerback Rasul Douglas, and safety Damar Hamlin, one restricted free agent (tight end Quintin Morris), and one ERFA (offensive lineman Alec Anderson).

Plus, we learn that the Bills are “intrigued” about bringing Cooper back after the team traded for him during the regular season.

Even more Bills news

We hear how it appears likely that edge rusher Von Miller has played his last game with the Bills; find out which players the Bills brought back on reserve/future deals; examine safety Micah Hyde’s lasting impact on Buffalo as he heads into retirement, and more!
