Bills Mafia will soon get their first up-close look at Buffalo’s newest players — catch up here on all of Buffalo’s 22 rookies

The Buffalo Bills welcomed their newest rookie class to training camp on Tuesday, unofficially kicking off the 2024 edition of NFL summer camp at St. John Fisher University. It’s almost time for organized practice and plenty of current on-field news, Bills Mafia!

Western New York, the Finger Lakes and Genesee regions, Central New York, and elsewhere have been mired in less-than-ideal weather. Several severe storms have battered those areas, knocking out power and worse to many areas in close proximity to New York’s many lakes.

Hopefully the worst of it’s in our rearview mirror, and training camp will proceed uninterrupted — but if you know anything about the Flower City, the weather can and often does change every 10 minutes. Your humble team here at Buffalo Rumblings has been no exception to the crazy weather patterns — as such we’ll do our best to get you caught up with all that’s happening in Rochester, and elsewhere as it relates to the Bills ahead of the kickoff to camp.

Remember, training camp doesn’t officially begin until next week. We’ll use this space as a means to review Buffalo’s 2024 rookie class before they hit Fisher’s field turf in Pittsford, NY.

So how did each rookie land with the Bills? Your recap follows below...

The Buffalo Bills entered the 2024 NFL Draft with 11 picks at their disposal, exiting the draft with 10 new players. As usual, general manager Brandon Beane was very active moving around the board. Instead of a predicted move up for a wide receiver, Beane moved back twice and out of Round 1 to begin things for Buffalo. Here’s how that all played out:

Trade 1
(points in parenthesis = Rich Hill trade value chart)

  • Bills received: 32 (184 pts), 95 (40 pts), 221 (2pts) = 226
  • Chiefs received: 28 (209 pts), 133 (18 pts), 248 (1 pt) = 227
A near-even trade with the results of this trade

Trade 2
(points in parenthesis = Rich Hill trade value chart)

  • Bills received: 33 (180 pts), 141 (14 pts) = 194 pts
  • Panthers received: 32 (184 pts), 200 (5 pts) = 189 pts
Bills with a net gain as a result of this trade
