Beane didn’t mince words when asked to respond to disparaging comments made by an anonymous NFL executive about QB Josh Allen

Buffalo Bills general manager Brandon Beane took his first turn at the hot seat following the team’s initial 2024 training camp practice at St. John Fisher University on Wednesday. Almost immediately, Beane was asked to respond to comments made by an anonymous NFL executive who stated that quarterback Josh Allen is overrated.

Brandon Beane didn’t mince words. Not one bit.

“Josh (Reed), I don’t know where to start. It’s frustrating — you try to ignore this stuff, like Josh is going into year seven and there’s still the naysayers. I don’t get it. If I was gonna use ‘rated,’ I would say ‘underrated’ before I would say ‘overrated.’ And I know I’m biased. He’s our guy and I love him every single day. These things that come out there, I know people love the rankings of whoever, but when you don’t put your name to it and you make comments like that — who is this executive? Executive’s a loose term. I was probably referred to as an executive well before I should’ve been. So, I just say if you’re not gonna put your name on it, we really shouldn’t validate it. I know it gets validated ‘cause it’s on ESPN, and you know I’m not a fan of that style. You know, I wish the writer wouldn’t include a comment like that. I don’t think Josh deserves that and, again, I’m biased but I’m tired of hearing it.”

When asked what would lead someone to believe Josh Allen is an overrated NFL quarterback, Beane offered Sal Maiorana a simple opinion:

“Sal, there’s idiots everywhere.”

If nothing else, it stands reason that Brandon Beane expects this anonymous executive to come out of hiding if they’re going to make such bold claims.

And you know what? We’re here for all of that Big Baller Beane energy.
