Shakir’s work with Eric Moulds continues to positively shape their generational Bills connection
Just as the Buffalo Bills were getting settled in at mandatory minicamp earlier this month, concerning reports made the rounds about an injury wide receiver Khalil Shakir had sustained on the first day of practice.
Much was unknown beyond the injury appearing to affect his lower left leg, the biggest piece of evidence being the compression sleeve he was observed wearing in the days following — which included his appearance on the sideline the day after getting hurt.
Now, less than two weeks after the initial injury, it appears Shakir is on the mend and doing well as he continues to train with Bills legend Eric Moulds and his outfit known as Optimal Athletic Training. Shakir began training last offseason with Moulds, and their bond appears to be growing stronger as they put in the work together for Shakir to have the biggest on-field impact he can going into his third season with Buffalo.
The positive report from Banged Up Bills is a sigh of relief for a team that’s sure to be looking Shakir’s way for someone to step up in absence of Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis.
Positive update on #Bills Khalil Shakir today working out with Eric Moulds again, 1.5 weeks after his L leg injury on June 11.

Still has the compression sleeve but looks fine going through the various drills.
Glad to see it’s wasn’t a big layoff to resume training. pic.twitter.com/SIPSZQtn6q
Organizationally, the Bills have dedicated a significant portion of their offseason to highlighting Khalil Shakir, allowing fans to get to know him a little better both off the field and on it — which includes his work with Moulds, who was one of the best to ever play wide receiver for the Buffalo Bills. Certainly, Teddy Bruschi remembers Eric Moulds.
