Which games are you most interested in learning more about?
At 8 p.m. EDT tonight the NFL will reveal the complete schedule for the upcoming season. This is a great time for fans as this gives them the first opportunity to pick out which game(s) they hope to attend. It also gives fans advanced notice of when they might need to call out of work due to their favorite team having a primetime game the night before. When it comes to the Buffalo Bills’ schedule, here are some things to watch for.
The first thing people usually look at for the Bills besides the primetime games are when they will play the other teams in the AFC East. It was already announced on Tuesday that the Bills will travel down to Miami to play the Dolphins for the first Thursday Night Football game on Amazon Prime this year. Usually this would lead us to the idea that Miami will be coming to Buffalo late in the season, but rumors have them heading to Buffalo in early November. As for the New York Jets and the New England Patriots, it’s anyone's guess when these games could happen — but late-season divisional matchups are the go-to for NFL schedule makers these days. They may even find themselves playing one of these teams twice in a three week period.
The next thing to watch out for is when the Bills will reacquaint themselves with some old friends. Week 2 against Miami will be the first time they face safety Jordan Poyer after he left Buffalo in free agency. Of course the fans will be looking for the game against the Houston Texans to see Stefon Diggs again after the offseason trade. The Jacksonville Jaguars game will see the Bills go against wide receiver Gabe Davis and Mitch Morse, while the game against the Los Angeles Rams will pull on fans’ heart strings watching cornerback Tre’Davious White in an opposing uniform.
Lastly, we’ll be looking out for where the games against the “big dogs” slot in. Those teams will be the Baltimore Ravens and the two-time defending Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs. It’s always fun to see Josh Allen go against Lamar Jackson and Patrick Mahomes, and I’m sure this year will be no exceptions. Expect these games to be put in the national spotlight.
